@@lestermagnuson939 What you say is true of course, but even vinyards are expensive to run, especially if one needs to earn a viable income. I remember reading somewhere, a while back, that The Countess of Caernavon, chatelaine of Highclere Castle admitted that the sizeable location fees paid by the "Downton Abbey" production team, had paid for a desperately needed new roof on the stately pile. No doubt the stream of "day-trippers" devotees of the excellent series, are also a most welcome source of income. Sadly such opportunities are rare..

@@peterlbaldwin511 I think if I’m not mistaken at Highclere it’s about a million bounds a year for the upkeep of the roof that’s with stormed coming in as well I remember lady Caravan saying that people think you have a butler and all you do is sit around and drink tea all day and that’s not the case at all she said there’s a list about as big as the building is and you have to prioritize what goes to the top so it’s revolving all the time I know the one Reynolds’s was taken out of the dinning room of James the first and it was cleaned that was the first in 4 years I think she said and had to have some guilt on the Fran the red silk drapes were just done about a year ago and that was the first in over 6 years lol it’s crazy what it takes I know in 2012 Chatsworth had a complete restoration to the building and furnishing it was about 14million ponds there’s a difference the the cavendish family have enough money to maintain the estate which is the size of the state of Washington DC in America they run 3 county’s it’s amazing

Thank you for sharing your comment. Yes, it is a smaller producer that is focused on sustainability - They also produce some amazing honey from the bee hives in their vineyards. Located in Villers sous Chatillon which is just a ten minute drive outside of Epernay. Chris.

@@GlassOfBubbly How do you preserve the wine once its opened? I'd like to review more sparkling wines.

@@BoozeReviews01 Many ways to do this, we either use a basic stopper to be honest on wines we need to taste again / use again later. Much of wines for tastings does end up not being used / poured away etc.

@@GlassOfBubbly thanks for the info. I find basic stoppers fly out after a while. I've seen gallons being tipped out at events.

Totally agree. I found it very disappointing. The Dom Perignon 2004 and 2008 are incredible vintages.
